Right to guidance

The University has a duty to advise you on its rules and how they affect you. If you contact the wrong official agency, the University must refer you to the correct one.

Good counselling will give you a better understanding of your rights and duties.

See your study page for contact information for the student counselling service.

Example of an inquiry to the student ambassador

A student wanted to study part-time because dyslexia made full-time study difficult. The student ambassador advised him that he was entitled to apply for an exemption, but also noted that he was not fully informed of all of the options available to students with dyslexia.

The ambassador therefore also referred him to the unit for special educational support to learn about other appropriate options.
