Rights and responsibilities

You have both rights and responsibilities as a student. They go hand in hand. We have gathered a sample that is good to know.

RIGHTS:

Get guidance

on the university's rules. Relevant information must be available to you on your study information page.

Get an explanation

if you receive a rejection, e.g. an exemption application or a complaint.

Bring a witness

to conversations with the university. E.g. in connection with suspected exam cheating.

Get reasonable adjustments

if you have a documented functional impairment so that you can complete your studies on an equal footing with your fellow students.

Use 3 exam attempts

in each course if you need it. You can apply for more attempts, if special circumstances have prevented you from passing.

Withdraw from exams due to illness

if you are ill. If you call in sick in time, you do not use an exam attempt.

Know and follow the rules

Read your curriculum and information on your study information page.

Read email's on your UCPH e-mail

If for example, you have applied for an exemption, this is where you will receive a decision and a complaint deadline from the university.

Avoid plagiarism

when writing an exam assignment and delivering papers during a course.

Write a reasoned application

when you apply for an adjustment. For example, exemption for special exam conditions or Special Education Support (SPS). And attach relevant documentation.

Know the deadlines

that apply to you. E.g. deadlines for withdrawing from the exam. Find the deadlines on your study information page.

Take responsibility for your study plan

Please contact the student counselling service immediately if irregularities occur in your study plan, for example due to illness.
